June 13 (UPI) -- The country music trio Cash is getting ready to record an album of duets on an upcoming Christmas holiday release.

"It's a Christmas album that we're recording and we're doing Christmas duets," June Carter Cash told the "Today Show" while shopping for gifts for her family at a store in Burbank, Calif.

"I have some favorites that I just can't go without and I'm just trying to find the perfect things for everybody," she added.

Johnny Cash -- June's husband and their son-in-law -- was on hand for the shopping experience, as was Cash's adopted daughter, Rosanne Cash.

The country music family has been hard at work recording the album, titled "A Christmas Album," which will hit stores in early November.

"We actually start recording it this week," Johnny Cash said.

The album will be released through Nashville-based Grand Ole Opry Records, the same label that's releasing June and Johnny Cash's last two studio albums, "Just a Little Rain" and "The List."

"Grand Ole Opry is just doing amazing. I'm really excited about it," June Cash said. "I just think it's going to be a very special release."

The trio already has three singles, including "The Christmas List," written by Rosanne Cash and June Cash.

"I just think, personally, that if there's a time to record a Christmas album, it's now," Johnny Cash said, while laughing. "So, I don't know. It just feels right."

Cash will be one of many special guests on the album. Elvis Presley is listed as an official collaborator and his daughter Lisa Marie performed a duet with Johnny Cash in the "Hee Haw" TV specials.

"I'm sure he's going to get a lot of fun stuff," June Cash said. "He's a big influence on us."

The family's Christmas album will include a variety of classic holiday songs, including "The Christmas Song," a traditional carol, "Silent Night," a staple of the Christmas season, and "The First Noel," a song that's played in the background at Christmas time.

"We wanted to have a variety of different types of songs," June Cash said. "I also think there's a wide variety of styles of songs that are popular this time of year, so I think it'll be fun for everybody to hear."

The trio hopes to perform the album live, including the first live performance of "The Christmas List" from the Ryman Auditorium.

"We just want to share it with as many people as we can," June Cash said.

"It's going to be interesting to see
